For this Friday’s roll-up of bizarre and disturbing stories from around the world, we found ourselves zeroing-in on some ridiculous data privacy violations.

Soccer app spies on fans

The Spanish soccer (sigh, OK– football) league, known by fans around the world simply as La Liga, knew that most pubs across Europe showing its matches weren’t paying for the subscription.

La Liga was sick of losing out on royalties from the pirated video streams. So they turned their fans into unwitting spies.

Through a special app they encouraged fans to download, La Liga was able to secretly activate the mobile devices’ microphones.

They then listened in on the fans’ surroundings (and pinpointed their location) to determine if the fan was in a pub watching an unlicensed broadcast.

When they finally got caught, the league received a tiny slap on the wrist for this extraordinary crime– a mere fine of €250,000, roughly USD $280,000.

I hope this makes you re-think some of the apps you’ve downloaded…

Yet another government database was hacked

The US Customs and Border Patrol is starting to roll out facial recognition software at airports and entry points around the United States.

But they already can’t keep our photos and information secure.

This month, CBP announced that a database containing photos of drivers and license plates crossing the border was hacked.

As many as 100,000 people had their photos, license plates, and sensitive information about their travels leaked into unknown hands.

Even if you could trust the government’s intentions, you can’t trust them to keep your data private.

Apple scans your uploaded images

Its cause is noble…

Apple doesn’t want to allow criminals to upload images of child abuse onto the cloud.

But their solution is to invade the privacy of every user.

Apple recently changed their privacy policy to include authorization for “pre-screening or scanning uploaded content for potentially illegal content.”

But they don’t explain how invasive this pre-check actually is.

We don’t know how they evaluate if an image is illegal, what they do about false positives, or if they are storing data collected from these scans.

All we know is that photos being uploaded to Apple’s cloud are not as private as you thought.

Man spends 44 days in jail for not unlocking his phone

Survival Solar Battery Charger - Free Today!

Police pulled a man over and found marijuana.

Then they saw a message pop up on his phone. It said, “OMG did they find it?”

That prompted cops to demand access to the man’s phone, but he refused. Eventually they got a judge to issue a warrant forcing him to reveal the password to his phone.

But he still refused.

Because of his refusal to let cops dig for crimes on his phone (or view intimate pictures of his girlfriend) the man was found in contempt of court. He spent 44 days in jail, still refusing to give up the passcode, before charges were downgraded, and he was released.

If you pay attention, you will notice that acts of kindness occur regularly all over the world. Sometimes, the good deeds go unnoticed. But every now and again, they are highlighted for the public to appreciate. This story is the latter.

In mid-June, Officer Brian Zagorski of the Niles Police Department in Illinois saw a homeless man wearing tattered shoes with worn-out rubber soles. As the man walked down the street, he tripped. This prompted Zagorski to offer assistance.

Officer Zagorski approached the man and struck up conversation. He then inquired about the individual’s circumstances. As GoodNewsNetwork reports, the officer offered the man a bag of toiletries which were supplied by the a community assistance program. The man declined, however.

He still wanted to help, so the officer asked the man what his shoe size was. As fate would have it, they wore the same size. Without missing a beat, the Officer Zagorski took off his shoes and gave them to a homeless man. Reportedly, he inquired once more to determine if there was anything else he could do to help.

Afterward, Zagorski strolled off — happy and shoe-less. “I was happy,” he told WGN-TV. “I made a difference, and that’s essentially what we sign up to do, is to make a difference.”

The officer has not seen the man since the exchange but will be keeping an eye out for him. He told the press that he hopes to continue lending aid, should the opportunity arise.

Perhaps the story is propaganda to proselytize support for the police department. Or, perhaps it’s simply a good story highlighting a positive deed. Whatever the case, we believe it deserves to be shared. Please comment your thoughts below and share this news!

Applause, applause, applause! Give thanks for whistleblowers!

Alexandra Bruce, publisher at Forbidden Knowledge TV, has done it again!  She provides us with the inside story about a whistleblower at Pinterest, which she documents in this narrative.

Eric Cochran is the young engineer who came forward. He explains here the inner peace that he felt when Pinterest fired him:

I could live in the comforts of life and I could go on for 80 years and make money…and then I’ll just fall to ashes. I think that’s how a lot of people live their lives and it’s hard to break out of that rhythm, there’s like an inertia…to me, this was just such an obvious choice because I saw wrongdoing…this is something that, no matter what happens, no matter what I lose, it’ll mean something after I’m gone…

All the things that we think are so important, like our status on social media even our reputations online, they don’t matter and that’s really how the tech establishment controls people…fear, intimidation that you’re gonna be a social outcast but those things aren’t real…it’s just fake stuff and there’s so many people in the real world who do support you and who do have your back and you’re making all the difference for the country and for the world and for humanity when you come forward and you tell people what’s really going on inside of these dark censorship bureaus.

“To me there’s no other option.”“I saw wrongdoing.”“This is the moment that matters.”“This awakens more people to what’s going on in tech.”“Bring more light to the case.”“The tech companies can’t fight us all.”… Eric Cochran

Personally, I think accurate journalism plus human dignity, righteousness, and the sacredness of true freedom—not socialism, Leftist-thinking or censorship—owe all whistleblowers a sincere debt of gratitude, since we probably never would know the putrid depths to which Internet platforms – and other controllers – stoop in order to instill fear, bigotry, control, plus an apparent New World Order agenda.

SANTA FE, N.M. (June 14, 2019) – Today, a New Mexico law goes into effect that limits the warrantless use of stingray devices to track people’s location and sweep up electronic communications, and more broadly protects the privacy of electronic data. The new law will also hinder the federal surveillance state.

Sen. Peter Wirth (D) filed Senate Bill 199 (SB199) on Jan. 8. Titled the “Electronic Communications Privacy Act,” the new law will help block the use of cell site simulators, known as “stingrays.” These devices essentially spoof cell phone towers, tricking any device within range into connecting to the stingray instead of the tower, allowing law enforcement to sweep up communications content, as well as locate and track the person in possession of a specific phone or other electronic device.

The bill requires police to obtain a warrant or wiretap order before deploying a stingray device, unless they have the explicit permission of the owner or authorized possessor of the device, or if the device is lost or stolen. SB199 includes an exception to the warrant requirement for emergency situations. Even then, police must apply for a warrant within 3 days and destroy any information obtained if the court denies the application.

On Jan. 24, the Senate passed SB199 by a 41-0 vote. On Jan. 30, the House concurred with a vote of 68-0. With the governor’s signature, the law went into effect June 14.

SB199 also bars law enforcement agencies from compelling a service provider or any person other than the owner of the device without a warrant or wiretap order. This includes actual communication content such as phone conversations, text messages and email, location information and other metadata such as IP addresses pertaining to a person or device participating in the communication.

A service provider may still share information voluntarily under the law. Law enforcement will have to destroy such information within 90 days unless it gets the consent of the owner or a court order.

Provisions in SB199 will severely limit sharing of any legally obtained data.

The legislation provides a legal remedy for anybody whose data is obtained in violation of the law.

A person in a trial, hearing or proceeding may move to suppress any electronic information obtained or retained in violation of the United States constitution, the constitution of New Mexico or the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. The motion shall be made, determined and subject to review in accordance with the procedures provided in law.

A similar bill unanimously passed in both houses of the New Mexico legislature in 2017, but Gov. Susana Martinez vetoed the bill, saying she didn’t want to “burden law enforcement officials.” Martinez was term-limited out of office and Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham replaced her in 2019.

IMPACT ON FEDERAL SURVEILLANCE PROGRAMS

The federal government funds the vast majority of state and local stingray programs, attaching one important condition. The feds require agencies acquiring the technology to sign non-disclosure agreements. This throws a giant shroud over the program, even preventing judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys from getting information about the use of stingrays in court. The feds actually instruct prosecutors to withdraw evidence if judges or legislators press for information. As the Baltimore Sun reported in April 2015, a Baltimore detective refused to answer questions on the stand during a trial, citing a federal non-disclosure agreement.

Defense attorney Joshua Insley asked Cabreja about the agreement.

“Does this document instruct you to withhold evidence from the state’s attorney and Circuit Court, even upon court order to produce?” he asked.

“Yes,” Cabreja said.

As privacysos.org put it, “The FBI would rather police officers and prosecutors let ‘criminals’ go than face a possible scenario where a defendant brings a Fourth Amendment challenge to warrantless stingray spying.”

The experience of a Pinellas County, Florida, man further highlights the shroud of secrecy around the use of stingray devices, along with the potential for abuse of power inherent in America’s law enforcement community.

The feds sell the technology in the name of “anti-terrorism” efforts. With non-disclosure agreements in place, most police departments refuse to release any information on the use of stingrays. But information obtained from the Tacoma Police Department revealed that it uses the technology primarily for routine criminal investigations.

Some privacy advocates argue that stingray use can never happen within the parameters of the Fourth Amendment because the technology necessarily connects to every electronic device within range, not just the one held by the target. And the information collected by these devices undoubtedly ends up in federal databases.

The feds can share and tap into vast amounts of information gathered at the state and local level through fusion centers and a system known as the “information sharing environment” or ISE. In other words, stingrays create the potential for the federal government to track the movement of millions of Americans with no warrant, no probable cause, and without the people even knowing it.

Fusion centers were sold as a tool to combat terrorism, but that is not how they are being used. The ACLU pointed to a bipartisan congressional report to demonstrate the true nature of government fusion centers: “They haven’t contributed anything meaningful to counterterrorism efforts. Instead, they have largely served as police surveillance and information sharing nodes for law enforcement efforts targeting the frequent subjects of police attention: Black and brown people, immigrants, dissidents, and the poor.”

Fusion centers operate within the broader ISE. According to its website, the ISE “provides analysts, operators, and investigators with information needed to enhance national security. These analysts, operators, and investigators…have mission needs to collaborate and share information with each other and with private sector partners and our foreign allies.” In other words, ISE serves as a conduit for the sharing of information gathered without a warrant. Known ISE partners include the Office of Director of National Intelligence which oversees 17 federal agencies and organizations, including the NSA. ISE utilizes these partnerships to collect and share data on the millions of unwitting people they track.

The federal government encourages and funds stingrays at the state and local level across the U.S., thereby undoubtedly gaining access to a massive data pool on Americans without having to expend the resources to collect the information itself. By placing restrictions on stingray use, state and local governments limit the data available that the feds can access.

Avoiding The Eye - Ships Free Today!

In a nutshell, without state and local cooperation, the feds have a much more difficult time gathering information. Passage of SB199 strikes a major blow to the surveillance state and is a win for privacy.

PARALLEL CONSTRUCTION

By allowing defendants to suppress information obtained in violation of the law, SB199 will hinder one practical effect of NSA spying in New Mexico.

Reuters revealed the extent of such NSA data sharing with state and local law enforcement in an August 2013 article. According to documents obtained by the news agency, the NSA passes information to police through a formerly secret DEA unit known Special Operations Divisions and the cases “rarely involve national security issues.” Almost all of the information involves regular criminal investigations, not terror-related investigations.

In other words, not only does the NSA collect and store this data, using it to build profiles, the agency encourages state and local law enforcement to violate the Fourth Amendment by making use of this information in their day-to-day investigations.

This is “the most threatening situation to our constitutional republic since the Civil War,” Binney said.

Discouraging kids to have and use smartphones is really ramping up.  PBS and other media sources have been increasing their coverage – and warnings – about screen addiction, blue light, LED light and Electromagnetic Radiation exposure.  The long list of health consequences associated with tech use and exposure keeps growing – macular degeneration, blindness, brain health issues (see 1, 2) cancer, insomnia, and so much more.  Warnings from credible medical sources keep piling on.

Of course, Silicon Valley parents (aka tech inventors) have always limited their own kids’ use and exposure to screens – even sending them to “low tech schools.  More recently they’ve been taking more desperate measures to protect them – like making their nannies sign “no screens” contracts and spying on them to make sure they don’t break rank.

So it’s pretty tacky that Novus decided to create a new smartphone for kids and Backhub is helping them raise money for it.  Even tackier – the smartphone can be converted into a watch even though wearable devices have been associated with a variety of issues (including rashes) which led to many being recalled.  This device can also be converted into a night light and alarm clock/to be placed at kids’ bedsides.  OMG!

It’s understandable that parents want to know their kids are safe 24/7.  But wouldn’t’ it be better to instead create something for them that doesn’t have such serious health and privacy risks?  According to their website –

Abardeen is a professional team that has more than 10 years of experience in designing and manufacturing of kids’ smartwatches. We’re on a mission to create the best smart devices for children at affordable prices.

So this is not a team of newbies.  They’ve even admitted:

However we also know that hidden obstacles and challenges often occur. Because of that, we’ve made sure to account for some amount of craziness or unforeseen problems that may occur in our schedule. If something does go wrong, we promise to keep our backers updated and informed about any issues and about the way in which we are solving them.

Nice disclaimer, Abardeen team.  Of course, if parents weren’t willing to buy these products for their kids, tech inventors wouldn’t keep making them.  They’d find another way to feed themselves and their families.

We continue to get more indications that U.S. economic conditions are going to deteriorate rapidly during the second half of this year.  Yesterday, I reported on a brand new survey which found that 69 percent of U.S. CFOs believe that a recession is coming “by the end of 2020”, and today we learned that Morgan Stanley’s Business Conditions Index has fallen dramatically.  In fact, according to CNBC the sudden drop in the index was “the largest one-month decline on record”…

A reading of the economy from Morgan Stanley is signaling “June gloom.”

Morgan Stanley’s Business Conditions Index, which captures turning points in the economy, fell by 32 points in June, to a level of 13 from a level of 45 in May. This drop is the largest one-month decline on record and the lowest level since December 2008 during the financial crisis, according to the firm.

At this point, I really don’t see how anyone can possibly claim that the U.S. economy is doing well.  We also just learned that U.S. unemployment claims have now risen for three weeks in a row, and the trade war is clearly beginning to take an immense toll on the economy.

This week, Walmart, Costco and hundreds of other companies jointly sent President Trump a letter that essentially begged him to end this trade war with China.  The following comes from CNN…

More than 600 companies and industry trade associations — including Walmart, Costco, Target, Gap, Levi Strauss and Foot Locker — wrote to the White House urging Trump to remove levies on China and end the ongoing trade war.

“We know firsthand that the additional tariffs will have a significant, negative, and long-term impact on American businesses, farmers, families, and the US economy,” the companies said in the letter. “An escalated trade war is not in the country’s best interest, and both sides will lose.”

Of course this is exactly what I have been telling my readers for a long time.

There aren’t going to be any winners in this trade war, and anyone who suggests that there will be is just being delusional.

If there had been a quick resolution to the trade war, large corporations could have perhaps swallowed the increased costs that they are facing.  But since it appears that this trade war will be with us for the foreseeable future, big companies are going to be forced to pass those costs on to consumers, and some top executives are openly admitting this…

“At the end of the day, prices will go up on things,” Costco (COST) chief financial officer Richard Galanti told analysts last month. Dollar General (DG) Chief Financial Officer John Garratt also said the company’s low-income shopping base “will be facing higher prices as 2019 progresses.”

If prices go up but our paychecks stay the same, that means that our standard of living is going to go down.

And as I noted yesterday, it is being projected that U.S. corporate earnings will be way down in the second quarter, so the big corporations are definitely suffering as well.

Meanwhile, China is warning of substantial damage to their economy, too, and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce just told the press that this trade war could lead to a global recession…

Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesman Gao Deng told a Beijing press conference on Thursday that “there will be no winner in the trade war, which could cause a recession in the United States and global economies.”

The ministry did not disclose US investment growth in China for the month of May alone, but the plunge seems to have coincided with the collapse of trade talks between Beijing and Washington.

Of course we were almost certainly heading toward a global recession anyway, but the trade war is definitely accelerating our problems.

At this point, global trade has already collapsed to levels not seen since the depths of the last recession.  Manufacturing numbers are plunging all over the world, and we just got some brand new numbers from the U.K. that are extremely alarming…

Production output in the UK dropped by 2.7% in April from March, and GDP fell by 0.4% in just one month, according to the latest figures by the Office of National Statistics. The manufacturing sector provided the largest contribution to the downturn, with the manufacturing index plunging 3.9% in April, from March, its biggest monthly fall since June 2002.

June 2002 was 17 years ago.

Not even during the last recession did we witness a monthly decline of that magnitude.

The speed at which the global economy is now deteriorating is breathtaking, and the crisis that so many thought had passed us by could actually be right on the doorstep.

And of course most Americans are completely and utterly unprepared for any sort of an economic crisis.  Today, 59 percent of us are living paycheck to paycheck, and a survey that was just released discovered that the financial situation of most Americans has not improved since 2007…

Bankrate surveyed 2,740 adults across the country. Of those surveyed, 2,315 were older than 18 when the recession started.

Among people who were adults before the recession hit, 33 percent said their financial situation is “about the same” as it was before 2007, while 23 percent said their situation is worse.

Survival Solar Battery Charger - Free Today!

When you add those two numbers together, you get a total of 56 percent of all Americans that say that their financial situation is either “worse” or “about the same” as it was just before the last recession hit.

That isn’t good, and now another major downturn is here.

But of course most Americans assume that everything is going to be just fine.  For most of us, the pain of the last recession is a fading distant memory, and things have been relatively stable for an extended period of time.

So for the moment, most of the population is not too alarmed about what is coming.

Unfortunately, that will soon change in a major way.

Oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman. The US government rushes to blame Iran. Just like they blamed Iran for a recent shady rocket attack in the Green Zone in Iraq. The latest attack appears to be yet another false flag. Israel continues to bomb Syria with no media coverage.

By Caitlin Johnstone

In a move that surprised exactly zero people, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has wasted no time scrambling to blame Iran for damage done to two sea vessels in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday, citing exactly zero evidence.

“This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high-degree of sophistication,” Pompeo told the press in a statement.

“The United States will defend its forces, interests, and stand with our partners and allies to safeguard global commerce and regional stability. And we call upon all nations threatened by Iran’s provocative acts to join us in that endeavor,” Pompeo concluded before hastily shambling off, taking exactly zero questions.

Here are seven reasons to be extremely skeptical of everything Pompeo said:

1. Pompeo is a known liar, especially when it comes to Iran.

Pompeo has a well-established history of circulating blatant lies about Iran and the behavior of the Iranian government, and he recently told an audience at Texas A&M University that when he was leading the CIA, “We lied, we cheated, we stole. We had entire training courses.”

2. The US empire is known to use lies and false flags to start wars.

The US-centralized power alliance has an extensive and well-documented history of advancing preexisting military agendas using lies, false flags and psyops to make targeted governments appear to be the aggressors. This is such a well-established pattern that “Gulf of Tonkin” briefly trended on Twitter after the Gulf of Oman incident. Any number of government agencies could have been involved from any number of the nations in this alliance, including the US, the UK, the KSA, the UAE, or Israel.

3. John Bolton has openly endorsed lying to advance military agendas.

I wrote an article about this last month because the Trump administration had already begun rapidly escalating against Iran in ways that happen to align perfectly with the longtime agendas of Trump’s psychopathic Iran hawk National Security Advisor. At that time people were so aware of the possibility that Bolton might involve himself in staging yet another Middle Eastern war based on lies that The Onion was already spoofing it.

On a December 2010 episode of Fox News’ Freedom Watch, Bolton and the show’s host Andrew Napolitano were debating about recent WikiLeaks publications, and naturally the subject of government secrecy came up.

“Now I want to make the case for secrecy in government when it comes to the conduct of national security affairs, and possibly for deception where that’s appropriate,” Bolton said. “You know Winston Churchill said during World War Two that in wartime truth is so important it should be surrounded by a bodyguard of lies.”

“Do you really believe that?” asked an incredulous Napolitano.

“Absolutely,” Bolton replied.

“You would lie in order to preserve the truth?”

“If I had to say something I knew was false to protect American national security, I would do it,” Bolton answered.

This would be the same John Bolton who has been paid exorbitant speaking fees by the pro-regime change MEK terror cult, promising the cult in a 2017 speech that they’d be celebrating regime change in Tehran together before 2019. This would also be the same John Bolton who once threatened to murder an OPCW official’s children if he didn’t stop getting in the way of his Iraq war agenda.

4. Using false flags to start a war with Iran is already an established idea in the DC swamp.

Back in 2012 at a forum for the Washington Institute Of Near East Policy think tank, the group’s Director of Research Patrick Clawson openly talked about the possibility of using a false flag to provoke a war with Iran, citing the various ways the US has done exactly that with its previous wars.

“I frankly think that crisis initiation is really tough, and it’s very hard for me to see how the United States president can get us to war with Iran,” Clawson began.

“Which leads me to conclude that if in fact compromise is not coming, that the traditional way that America gets to war is what would be best for US interests,” Clawson added. “Some people might think that Mr. Roosevelt wanted to get us into the war… you may recall we had to wait for Pearl Harbor. Some people might think that Mr. Wilson wanted to get us into World War One; you may recall we had to wait for the Lusitania episode. Some people might think that Mr. Johnson wanted to get us into Vietnam; you may recall we had to wait for the Gulf of Tonkin episode. We didn’t go to war with Spain until the USS Maine exploded. And may I point out that Mr. Lincoln did not feel that he could call out the Army until Fort Sumter was attacked, which is why he ordered the commander at Fort Sumter to do exactly that thing which the South Carolinians said would cause an attack.”

“So if, in fact, the Iranians aren’t going to compromise, it would be best if somebody else started the war,” Clawson continued. “One can combine other means of pressure with sanctions. I mentioned that explosion on August 17th. We could step up the pressure. I mean look people, Iranian submarines periodically go down. Some day, one of them might not come up. Who would know why? [Smattering of sociopathic laughter from the crowd.] We can do a variety of things, if we wish to increase the pressure (I’m not advocating that) but I’m just suggesting that this is not an either/or proposition — just sanctions have to succeed or other things. We are in the game of using covert means against the Iranians. We could get nastier at that.”

5. The US State Department has already been running psyops to manipulate the public Iran narrative.

State Department officials admitted to Congressional staff at a closed-door meeting on Monday that a $1.5 million troll farm had gone “beyond the scope of its mandate” by aggressively smearing American critics of the Trump administration’s Iran policy as propagandists for the Iranian government, according to a new report from The Independent.  That “mandate” had reportedly consisted of “countering propaganda from Iran”, also known as conducting anti-Iran propaganda.

“Critics in Washington have gone further, saying that the programme resembled the type of troll farms used by autocratic regimes abroad,” says The Independent.

“One woman behind the harassment campaign, a longtime Iranian-American activist, has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the State Department over the years to promote ‘freedom of expression and free access to information,’” the report reads.

6. The Gulf of Oman narrative makes no sense.

Well, well, well!  It’s happening:  The push to learn the hazards threatening human health and the environment from 5G cellular network technology by State Representative, Neil C. Abramson. Democrat, District 98 (Orleans Parish, New Orleans).

How lucky are those living in that state to have a legislator who “gets it” regarding the fact no health or environmental hazards/adverse effects from INDEPENDENT SCIENCE STUDIES have been performed regarding fifth generation microwave technology (5G) currently being forced dogmatically—similar to mandatory vaccines enforcement—on to consumers, who have absolutely no idea what is about to befall them, their children, pets, an over-stressed environment including tech’s anti-natural workings compromising “Mother Nature,” i.e., weather geoengineering.  Can/will 5G interfere with numerous high technologies, e.g., HAARP and spy satellites?

How will 5G beaming down from satellites ‘perched’ above Earth; transmitting from poles outside bedroom windows or small cell towers erected anywhere, including your back yard which you cannot protest nor remove, affect your ability to perform cognitively, all while malfunctioning, or suffering, from “electrosmog” at its super-charged RF energy transmissions?

As with previous generations, 5G is dependent on spectrum in many different bands. The three 5G ranges are: Sub-1 GHz, 1-6 GHz and above 6 GHz. The 26 GHz and 28 GHz bands fall in the latter group.

Source: https://www.gsma.com/spectrum/resources/26-ghz-28-ghz/

[Note: One GHz is one billion Hz oscillations of RF microwave energy per second!]

However, the actual 5G communication range is being offered in the millimeter wave length, i.e., 5G Ultra Wideband 24 GHz and above.

Since 5G is a “given and known weaponized military microwave genre,” not just a communications technology, shouldn’t the public have access to the military’s research?  Why did the military choose to ‘share’ 5G with microwave industry corporations?  Is there more to it than just “business as usual,” e.g., complete control and surveillance, all while promoting 5G as “better and much faster tech”?

Louisianans certainly want to know “what 5G communication RFs do,” so they are asking for research and facts, something every state also should be engaged in soliciting.  Below is the Louisiana House Resolution in the current 2019 Regular Session.

I offer the Louisiana Resolution verbatim so consumers can/will request the same of their respective state legislators, plus the Federal Communications Commission via phone 1 (888) 225-5322 or via email at https://www.fcc.gov/about/contact.

2019 Regular SessionHOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 145BY REPRESENTATIVE ABRAMSONA RESOLUTION

To urge and request the Department of Environmental Quality in conjunction with the Louisiana [insert YOUR state’s] Department of Health to study the environmental and health effects of evolving fifth generation cellular network technology (5G) and report its findings to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment and the House Committee on Health and Welfare no later than sixty days prior to the convening of the 2020 Regular Session of the Legislature.

WHEREAS, 5G technology is intended to greatly increase device capability and connectivity but also may pose risks to the environment due to increased radio-frequency radiation exposure; and

WHEREAS, a study is necessary to examine the advantages and risks associated with 5G technology, with a focus on the environmental impact and potential related effects; and

WHEREAS, peer-reviewed studies on this topic show the potential for wide-range effects; and

WHEREAS, 5G technology requires small cellular towers to be placed a short distance apart, closer than existing towers, at telephone pole height, and will operate in conjunction with the 3G and 4G technology infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, the insurance industry may have placed exclusions in policies to exempt damage caused by this technology; and

WHEREAS, certain manufacturers provide warnings to consumers regarding the reception of devices using this technology; and

WHEREAS, input is needed from the technological and other communities as well as persons involved with developing 5G technology.

HR NO. 145 ENROLLED

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana [insert YOUR state] does hereby urge and request the Department of Environmental Quality in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health to study the environmental and health effects of evolving 5G technology and report its findings to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment and the House Committee on Health and Welfare no later than sixty days prior to the convening of the 2020 Regular Session of the Legislature.

Just because ‘science’ can provide 5G tech, doesn’t mean corporations have to force it upon us without appropriate human and environmental risk assessments to prove it factually is safe, rather than depend upon consensus science dogma.

Shouldn’t consumers be demanding risk assessment studies from CDC, FDA, EPA and other alphabet agencies, especially the FCC?

Digital, electronic, and wireless products, infrastructure, and applications continue to be invented, promoted, and installed despite decades of research that prove exposure to Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) and Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) are biologically and environmentally harmful.  The “Race for 5G” and all it entails is taking this to a whole new level of awful.  The telecom industry can’t provide scientific evidence that 5G is safe and many researchers say it’s definitely not.  Regardless “the race” to install it continues worldwide despite increased warnings and opposition.
