For many years I have examined how wars of all types have been used by the money elite to distract the masses and maintain a certain level of influence over social and political systems. But war is not only a useful tool for keeping the status quo. Some wars, particularly world wars, are often catalyzed and exploited by those with a globalist agenda as a way to change the way civilizations function and think. The goal? To influence the masses to abandon their attachments to concepts like individualism, nationalism, free markets and sovereignty, and to embrace collectivism and total centralization.

That is to say, the ideals that globalists hate get blamed for the wars they help start, then they introduce their centralized systems as a “solution” to the problems they created. The trade war situation will be no different.

The public enthusiasm for the trade war is an artificially induced fervor, perpetuated by elites within the Trump Administration cabinet, including Rothschild banking agent Wilber Ross, Council On Foreign Relations member Robert E. Lighthizer, Goldman Sachs member Steve Mnuchin, and Bilderberg attendee Mike Pompeo. It showcases a clear desire to escalate global tensions.  But why?

Whether or not you agree with the rationalizations behind the trade war, the point is, the only people who will ultimately benefit from it are those striving for globalization.

To institute centralization on a global scale, the elites need an all-encompassing crisis that can be blamed on nationalism, protectionism, and the free market dynamic. They need a threat that will affect and terrify billions of people into demanding intervention by international organizations such as the IMF and the BIS, as well as a rationale to introduce monetary umbrella actions such as the induction of the SDR (Special Drawing Rights) basket system as a replacement for the U.S. dollar as the world reserve currency. They need something very similar to a world war. In this case, however, it will be more economic than kinetic.

An economic world war has the distinct potential to cause all the elements of a collapse situation without the severe damage to vital infrastructure that inevitably comes with a shooting war. Because of the advantages the strategy provides for globalists, I predicted this exact outcome would develop out of the trade war in my article ‘World War III Will Be An Economic War’, published in April 2018. Here are the trade war developments so far that support this theory…

Collapse Of Trade Talks: Recent plans for high level trade talks between the U.S. and China have fallen apart (likely by design), and so far there are no announced plans to reengage negotiations. So, all the assumptions in investment circles the last few months that a trade deal would be quickly finalized and vault the Dow Jones to 30,000 points were obviously a result of wishful thinking in unicorn land.

Abrupt Spike In China Tariffs: The Trump Administration announcement of a sudden and swift increase in tariffs was not all that surprising to me, but it sure seemed to shock the mainstream economic world. Probably because of the endless talk since January of an imminent deal being brokered. The word on one side was that China would fold because they “can’t survive” without exports to U.S. markets. Of course, the U.S. only accounts for 18% of Chinese exports, which is a sizable piece of the pie, but hardly a crippling blow to China should the trade war continue for the long term.

The word on the other side was that Trump would fold because he had attached the success of his administration to the success of the stock market, and a prolonged trade war would invariably crash stocks. This is partially true…

Trump rightly insisted during his presidential campaign that the Federal Reserve had used quantitative easing (QE) measures to artificially inflate the stock market bubble for the past several years. Then, after entering the White House, he pulled a 180 and began Tweeting relentlessly about how stock market highs were due to his administration, not the Fed. Now, this might seem like insanity until you look at the elitists residing in Trump’s cabinet, and then everything starts to make sense.

China’s Retaliation: China has raised its tariffs on U.S. exports to 25% and has all but ended its purchases of U.S. agricultural goods, which is devastating profit margins for American farmers right after massive flooding in the Midwest had already hurt planting prospects. However, China has not yet released a full statement on how it intends to retaliate. Options on the table include banning exports of rare earth metals to the U.S., targeting U.S. companies like Google, Qualcomm or Apple with restrictions or bans of their operation in China altogether as the U.S. has done with Huawei, dump their extensive holdings of U.S. treasuries, or the most damaging tactic of all – drop the U.S. dollar as the world reserve currency for purchases of Chinese goods, a prospect I will examine shortly.

Surprise Tariff Threats On Mexico: Another surprise out of left field as Trump targeted Mexico with 5%, rising to 25% in the next few months if Mexico does not stem the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S.  Such a move would erase the “North American Trade Deal” set to be finalized this month if the situation is not resolved.  While Trump has announced that a deal has been finalized, I remain highly skeptical.  As we witnessed with the China trade talks, any discussion of a “deal” being made should be taken with a grain of salt, and I predict tensions with Mexico will return in a matter of a few months.

Mexico is the largest U.S. trading partner under China and Canada, and the third biggest buyer of U.S. goods. A trade war with Mexico should be taken as seriously as the trade war with China.

Tariffs Against India: The U.S. is ending preferential trade status with India as part of the tariff salvo, which effectively places tariffs on over 3,000 different export items once considered duty free. India is now considering possible retaliatory measures, and has been edging towards closer economic ties with China for a few years. This move may push them all the way into China’s camp. As a side note, India and China together make up around one third of the world population.

Tariffs Against Australia: A key ally in the Pacific region, Australia was given exemption from tariffs on steel and aluminum exports to the US. However, the Trump Administration is considering removing that exemption which would mean 10% tariffs on Australia’s aluminum and 25% tariffs on its steel. Australia only makes up around 6% of the U.S. aluminum market, but the tariffs could be treated as an attack against a long time partner and opposed as a matter of principle.

Trump Offers UK A Deal If They Brexit: I predicted the outcome of the Brexit vote back in 2016 based on a theory – that those who desired globalization were pulling back on real interference (as opposed to theatrical interference) and were allowing “populist movements” to gain an apparent foothold in the political arena. Why? So that they could then collapse the “Everything Bubble” the central banks had created on the heads of those same movements and blame them for the disaster.

I also predicted based on the same theory that the Brexit would eventually result in a “no deal” scenario, otherwise known as a hard Brexit, in which the UK would leave the EU without a finalized agreement on future trade. So far the theory is holding strong, with Trump in the UK recently seeking a U.S./UK trade deal if the UK walks away from the EU. This places the two biggest “populist” movements in the world in direct alliance, and should they both fall together economically, the history books will surely blame their trade protectionism and “overt” nationalism rather than the central banks that caused the financial instability in the first place.

Potential Tariffs On EU Auto Industry: This event has been hanging over markets like a dark cloud for months, and with the latest accelerated tariff moves in May, the expectation this summer is that Trump will pull the trigger on EU auto exports. Trump’s recent courting of the UK as an extended trading partner is also signaling a coming trade war with the EU. For now, such actions remain uncertain, but the timing for globalists would be perfect if the EU was to enter conflict with the U.S.

The Outcome Of Trade Escalation Will Be World Economic War

If the U.S. was negotiating from a position of economic strength, then tariffs might make perfect sense. But, as most alternative economists are well aware of, U.S. economic strength is nothing more than a facade hanging by a thin thread.

The U.S. needs an extensive manufacturing base that can supply goods as well as jobs directly to the American people in order to properly conduct a trade war. We are far too dependent on foreign imports and the retail sector. However, corporations outsourcing overseas have been given no incentive to bring jobs and factories back. If Trump had offered corporate tax cuts in exchange for companies moving manufacturing to U.S. shores, this might have secured America’s position in terms of tariffs, but the trade war is being conducted in a backwards manner.

We often hear that the U.S. consumer is the greatest economic resource we have and the thing that makes U.S. markets so enticing to foreign export nations. It is the reason we were told a year ago that China would fold to U.S. demands, which, of course, did not happen. The fact is, the U.S. consumer market is a fraud. The real resource that drives our retail sector is debt; massive debt.

U.S. household debt is at all-time highs, and a quarter of Americans rely on credit cards for purchases of necessities. A large portion of U.S. retail relies on debt expansion, not true wealth, and once debt grows beyond the consumers’ ability to keep up, retail starts to decline.

This is probably why, despite increased credit spending, overall retail sales in the U.S. are dwindling in 2019. If U.S. consumers aren’t buying more goods with more credit, then where are they spending the money? The likely answer is they are taking on new debt to pay off old debts. This credit death cycle is exactly what happened just before the crash of 2008 and it is happening again today.

If the U.S. consumer market is breaking down, then there is no incentive for foreign exporters to capitulate to U.S. trade demands.

This means that the trade war will continue unabated. Possible deals will be announced to keep the public absorbed in the chaos and to keep stock markets from falling too quickly. However, as we saw with China, a trade deal announced almost every month for a year does not ensure that a trade deal will be made real. As this situation drags on into winter I expect that the U.S./China conflict will mutate into a global conflict. Meaning, countries are going to start taking sides.

Already, the U.S. is drawing battle lines by seeking trade war alliances with Japan and South Korea. Whether or not this bears fruit is yet to be determined. Japan’s long time blood feud with China almost guarantees they will side with the U.S. in an economic war, but China is one of their largest export markets, and the conflict would hurt them badly. South Korea’s dependence on U.S. protection against North Korea also makes their participation a good bet. But most other nations have been drifting away from the U.S. for some time.

Russia and China have already secured a pact through bilateral trade agreements. Parts of Europe including Germany have been building close economic ties with China for the past decade. I wrote about this relationship extensively in 2017 and predicted that in the event of a global economic crisis, Germany and China would form an alliance.  Vladimir Putin is once again openly calling for the dollar to be abandoned as the world reserve currency.

Most of southern Asia will undoubtedly side with China as these nations are so interdependent with the Chinese economy it would be unthinkable to separate. Australia is also heavily reliant on China as an export market, and with U.S. tariffs poisoning the well, I believe the Australians are much more likely to side with China than the U.S. in a trade war. India is uncertain, but again, with the threat of U.S. tariffs along with the factor of border proximity, India is probably going to join with the Chinese.

The nuclear option, the weapon that will inevitably end the trade war and the U.S. economy, is the dumping of the U.S. dollar by multiple nations as the world reserve currency. The loss of reserve status would crush our ability to create debt without consequences. This is the one pillar left holding up U.S. economic power, and make no mistake, globalists are perfectly positioned to benefit from this event. The introduction of a new global currency system tied to the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) basket has been hinted at time and again by various elites, including most recently Mohamed El-Erian in 2017, who suggested the SDR could be used as a reserve currency system to “combat the dangers of populist nationalism.”

The IMF has also been very vocal about its excitement over blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, which they hope to use to create their own digital currency system in the near future (they likely have one already). A global trade war is a dream scenario for those who want globalization, who can now institute unprecedented centralization as a “solution” while blaming all the negative consequences on war, chance events and populist zealotry.

On June 12, thousands of protesters blocked major roads surrounding Hong Kong’s government headquarters and legislature in the Admiralty district to prevent lawmakers from presenting amendments to a controversial extradition bill. The secretary of the Legislative Council announced that the scheduled session at 11:00 am would be deferred until further notice after lawmakers were unable to reach the Legislative Council Complex.

The roadblock protests followed a June 9 rally where over a million people took to the streets against proposed amendments to the Fugitive Offenders and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Legislation (Amendment)  Bill. The proposed bill would provide legal grounds for the Chief Executive and local courts to handle case-by-case extradition requests from authorities in mainland China, Taiwan and Macau. Protesters believe that the amendments would make it easier for mainland China to arrest critics, dissidents, and even journalists in Hong Kong.

Soon after the rally, the government issued a statement stressing that the administration will continue to proceed with the second reading of the bill on June 12. The government’s hard-line stance triggered a round of violent clashes between the police and hundreds of young protesters who gathered outside the Legislative Council on June 10.

The police arrested 31 protesters and took records of the identity of 358 protesters who stayed overnight after the rally. About 80 percent of them are between 16 to 25 years old.

On June 10, Chief Executive Carrie Lam continued defending the bill and stressed Hong Kong is “duty-bound to address that deficiency”. The president of the Legislature, Andrew Leung, decided that Hong Kong lawmakers would have to vote on the controversial bill by June 20.

The organizer of the Sunday rally, Civil Human Rights Front, called for another round of protests outside the government headquarters to paralyze the government starting on June 12. Student unions from seven Hong Kong tertiary institutions, including Chinese University and Baptist University, have called for students to boycott classes and join the rally. Over a hundred Hong Kong employers from across industry sectors have pledged to either suspend business or support employees who choose to strike.

About 2,000 protesters gathered overnight outside the Legislative Council on June 11 and more protesters joined them the next morning. At around 8:00 am, thousands of protesters occupied major roads (namely Lung Wo Road and Harcourt Road) surrounding the Legislative Council Building. Jerome Taylor, Hong Kong/Taiwan/Macau bureau chief for AFP, reported on Twitter:

One of my favorite TV shows was Person of Interest. In that show, a genius programmer was hired by the government to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) computer to tap into and analyze communication feeds and predict activities that may pose a threat. Unfortunately, as you can imagine, things spun out of control; the system that was designed to benefit society was not always beneficial to citizens.

As amusing as it is to watch escapist fiction such as this, it’s not so enjoyable when you realize it’s no longer fiction. China has already developed the infrastructure to envelop their citizens in this protective surveillance net and has begun that slippery slope of using AI to not only catch activities deemed undesired by the government – it’s starting to take action against those observed.

In the city of Shenzhen (and most likely others), when an offender is observed jaywalking via video surveillance, they will publicly humiliate you by showing your face on screens located around the city. Now that’s bad enough, but they’re going a step further. Those identified will have their cell phone ‘pinged’ and be sent an immediate fine.

By the way, Intellifusion, the company behind the AI system involved, is in talks with WeChat and Seina Weibo (China’s equivalents of Facebook and Twitter).

The surveillance state is expanding, and even children are not exempt.

You may think there must be some kind of check-and-balance system built in to ensure that children would be protected so that they wouldn’t suffer the same consequences as an adult. You’d be wrong.

As you can imagine, this outing of a child in such a public manner has sparked outrage. Instead of backing down on their stance, the police have doubled down and stated that no one is above the law and its draconian reaction. Of course they have. I know if I wanted to start weeding out hidden miscreants, I’d set up exactly this scenario. Guess what’s going to happen to those expressing their discontent?

You may think that all this isn’t so bad because it’s just surveillance out in the street, where people can see you anyway, so what’s the big deal? Well, this is just the beginning. In order to crack down on children playing on gambling sites on their computers, corporations are now starting to institute facial recognition utilizing the user’s webcam. Of course children shouldn’t be gambling but how long until this in-home video requirement expands to include normal, everyday websites such as social media? How long until they convince you it’s much more convenient for you to just use cameras that you can have installed in your home to protect children, assist in gaining you access to what you need, and help you increase your social credit by watching your good deeds at home at the same time?

Surveillance systems are insidious and are finding their way into our homes.

In case you’re one of those ‘careful’ types who wouldn’t allow that kind of nonsense in your home, Huawei and other very large manufacturers of electronics in China and around the world have become big suppliers to China’s security services. All they need to do is develop surveillance systems that help improve our lives at the same time so we actually pay for the privilege. Systems such as Ulo not only watch your home for you, it becomes part of your family. Can you think of other surveillance systems that we’ve now graciously invited into our homes?

What has begun is the dismantling of due process and the systematic expansion of systems that can be mined for data. Not only is every action observed, anything that the program decides is aberrant or not beneficial can now be punished without any intervention or legal protection – and no one is safe.

Now, most likely, you are reading this from a country outside of China, so why do you care? The AI in the fictional TV show based in the U.S., Person of Interest, couldn’t ever become a reality, could it? Systems in the U.S. have been able to automatically scan license plates for a while now and alert police to stolen vehicles. Cameras are now on pretty much every intersection in any city in the country and along the highways. The infrastructure to start this kind of surveillance state is already in place. All it would take is to somehow tap into this system with an AI to observe human behavior and perhaps even judge and jury like what’s happening in China. Unfortunately, this is also becoming a reality.

Some surveillance systems can detect concealed weapons and alert authorities.

A company called ZeroEyes has developed a system that can detect and alert the presence of even concealed weapons, resulting in a visual pat-down that only requires a camera in the room. Of course, if this is used to protect a facility that lets you know that entry is tacit approval, that’s one thing. ZeroEyes is already working with school systems and is moving toward a deal with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

Another company that is in the weapon-identification game is called Athena, but it has taken this one step further. Not only does their AI detect hidden weapons, it detects and alerts to human behavior itself. It learns how people move and their facial expressions and then decides when someone is acting strangely and alerts the authorities.

How long until they plug these AI systems into cameras all throughout town and even in our homes? How long until these systems start being used in ways that we were assured would not happen? How long until those with criminal or political intentions start using AI and surveillance to coerce behavior and punish those who don’t toe the party line?

What do you think?

By University of Colorado at Boulder

Astronomers probing the edges of the Milky Way have in recent years observed some of the most brilliant pyrotechnic displays in the galaxy: superflares.

These events occur when stars, for reasons that scientists still don’t understand, eject huge bursts of energy that can be seen from hundreds of light years away. Until recently, researchers assumed that such explosions occurred mostly on stars that, unlike Earth’s, were young and active.

Now, new research shows with more confidence than ever before that superflares can occur on older, quieter stars like our own–albeit more rarely, or about once every few thousand years.

The results should be a wake-up call for life on our planet, said Yuta Notsu, the lead author of the study and a visiting researcher at CU Boulder.

If a superflare erupted from the sun, he said, Earth would likely sit in the path of a wave of high-energy radiation. Such a blast could disrupt electronics across the globe, causing widespread black outs and shorting out communication satellites in orbit.

Notsu presented his research at a press briefing at the 234th meeting of the American Astronomical Society in St. Louis.

“Our study shows that superflares are rare events,” said Notsu, a researcher in CU Boulder’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics. “But there is some possibility that we could experience such an event in the next 100 years or so.”

Scientists first discovered this phenomenon from an unlikely source: the Kepler Space Telescope. The NASA spacecraft, launched in 2009, seeks out planets circling stars far from Earth. But it also found something odd about those stars themselves. In rare events, the light from distant stars seemed to get suddenly, and momentarily, brighter.

Researchers dubbed those humungous bursts of energy “superflares.”

Notsu explained that normal-sized flares are common on the sun. But what the Kepler data was showing seemed to be much bigger, on the order of hundreds to thousands of times more powerful than the largest flare ever recorded with modern instruments on Earth.

And that raised an obvious question: Could a superflare also occur on our own sun?

“When our sun was young, it was very active because it rotated very fast and probably generated more powerful flares,” said Notsu, also of the National Solar Observatory in Boulder. “But we didn’t know if such large flares occur on the modern sun with very low frequency.”

To find out, Notsu and an international team of researchers turned to data from the European Space Agency’s Gaia spacecraft and from the Apache Point Observatory in New Mexico. Over a series of studies, the group used those instruments to narrow down a list of superflares that had come from 43 stars that resembled our sun. The researchers then subjected those rare events to a rigorous statistical analysis.

The bottom line: age matters. Based on the team’s calculations, younger stars tend to produce the most superflares. But older stars like our sun, now a respectable 4.6 billion years old, aren’t off the hook.

“Young stars have superflares once every week or so,” Notsu said. “For the sun, it’s once every few thousand years on average.”

The group published its latest results in May in The Astrophysical Journal.

Notsu can’t be sure when the next big solar light show is due to hit Earth. But he said that it’s a matter of when, not if. Still, that could give humans time to prepare, protecting electronics on the ground and in orbit from radiation in space.

“If a superflare occurred 1,000 years ago, it was probably no big problem. People may have seen a large aurora,” Notsu said. “Now, it’s a much bigger problem because of our electronics.”

Co-authors on the recent study include researchers from Kyoto University, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, University of Hyogo, University of Washington and Leiden University.

By Michael Snyder

Global weather patterns are dramatically shifting, and week after week we keep seeing things happen that we have never seen before.  As far as our weather is concerned, this is definitely the strangest year in modern American history, and many believe that what we have witnessed so far is just the beginning.  Up until just recently, the endless rain, catastrophic flooding and horrific tornado outbreaks in the middle of the country have been dominating weather headlines.  But now the west coast is getting into the act.  This week, new record high temperatures have been established in city after city, and this includes San Francisco…

San Francisco International Airport reached its highest temperature ever recorded in the month of June: 100 degrees. In fact, this was the highest temperature ever measured at the airport in June, July or August. Usually, 100-degree readings occur in September in the Bay Area.

The previous daily record for June 10th of just 94 degrees was set back in 1994.

So that means that the old record was broken by 6 full degrees.

Like I said, we are seeing things happen that we have never seen before.

And San Francisco was far from alone.  Over the past few days new all-time records have been set all along the California coastline…

Many locations in California surpassed old record highs set 25 years ago in 1994, or even earlier. Record highs were set both Sunday and Monday in San Bernardino and Ontario, California, to name a few.

San Bernardino, California, sizzled at 102 and 104 F on Sunday and Monday, respectively, while the mercury registered 105 and 107 in Ontario, California, on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Please don’t try to tell me that this is normal.  In fact, right now we are in a “solar minimum” when solar activity is greatly subdued, and scientists are telling us that it could last for an extended period of time.  As a result, temperatures should be cooler than normal, but obviously they are not.

Clearly something unusual is happening.

On Wednesday, it is being projected that the high temperature in Palm Springs could reach 114 degrees…

In Palm Springs, California, where highs could hit 114 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday, officials warned the high temperatures could cause heat exhaustion, heat cramps or heat stroke.

In Las Vegas, shelters and temporary cooling stations were open during daytime hours because of that city’s excessive heat warning. Highs there could hit 105 each of the next three days.

And we are being told that the temperature in Death Valley could actually reach “120 degrees”…

An excessive-heat warning was even in effect in typically hellish Death Valley, California, where a high of 120 degrees was forecast for Wednesday.

Meanwhile, more “torrential downpours” just continue to hammer the Southeast and the Midwest.

Yes, every year there are major storms, but under normal conditions those storms pass and things dry out.

That hasn’t happened this year.  There has just been one major storm after another, and this has resulted in cataclysmic flooding over a vast portion of the country.  And just when you thought that it couldn’t get any worse, more massive storms came rolling in over the past few days.  In fact, it is being reported that some states received “more than a month’s worth of rain” in a single day…

Torrential downpours have flooded huge swaths of the Midwest and the Southeast since last week. Rain over the weekend triggered flash floods in several states, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Florida. In some states, more than a month’s worth of rain fell in a day.

Beyond flash floods, rivers rising more slowly in places like Iowa have threatened drinking water. In Illinois, flooding this past week has closed roads and bridges. Atlanta broke a single-day rainfall record on Saturday with 4 inches of rain. Nebraska issued a second disaster declaration last week in response to the floods.

Record after record is falling, but nowhere got hit as hard last week as North Carolina.  According to ABC News, one area of western North Carolina has actually received 13.57 inches of rain since last week.

I keep warning that all of this catastrophic weather will greatly reduce agricultural production this year, and the mainstream media is finally starting to realize that this is actually happening.

In all of U.S. history, we have never seen anything like this.  According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the last 12 months have been “the wettest 12-month span on record”…

NOAA reported last week that this past May was the second-wettest May on record. It also capped the wettest 12-month span on record.

Does anyone out there want to try to argue that this is normal?

Of course not.

And guess what?

According to the National Weather Service, more rain is on the way…

Avoiding The Eye - Ships Free Today!

And more rain is coming. The National Weather Service is projecting continued rain and flooding along the Mississippi River this week, stretching through Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

For many people, all of this rain is simply an inconvenience.  But I feel really bad for the thousands upon thousands of farmers that are being completely ruined financially by the endless rain.

And what happens if global weather patterns continue to become even more extreme?

With all of our advanced technology, we like to think that we are not vulnerable to the vagaries of the weather like the “primitive civilizations” that came before us, but that is not true at all.

There are more than 327 million people in the United States, and the entire population of the planet has now passed the 7.5 billion mark.

In order to feed all of those people we need to grow an absolutely massive amount of food.  We have become accustomed to living in a world where the weather is cooperative, but now that is changing in a major way, and nobody is quite sure what is going to happen next…

By Tony Cartalucci

A recent New York Times article titled, “Inside Syria’s Secret Torture Prisons: How Bashar al-Assad Crushed Dissent,” dusts off, combines, and repackages now nearly 8 years of Western war propaganda aimed at demonizing the Syrian government and paving way for regime change.

While the article claims it now has “memos sent to Syria’s head of military intelligence” to back up previous claims, it admits “some information was blacked out to protect the integrity of evidence for possible prosecutions.”

Yet in order to accuse a government publicly of maintaining “secret torture prisons,” evidence must be provided. Instead, the NYT presented recycled accounts from “activists” and opposition figures as well as Western-funded fronts including the “Syrian Network for Human Rights” and the  “Commission for International Justice and Accountability” (CIJA).

The CIJA in particular is claimed by NYT to have collected the alleged memos. Nothing about the CIJA’s background is provided by the NYT, nor can any website with background information be found.

However, the US government’s Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) interviewed CIJA director of investigations and operations, Chris Engels in 2018. In the interview, CIJA’s funding was discussed:

[CSCE:] Who funds CIJA?

[Chris Engels:] We have had a number of donors over the years. Our current donors include the United Kingdom, Canada, the European Union, Germany, Demark [sic], the Netherlands, and Norway.

Engels also openly admits that the CIJA works directly with the US government. In the interview he admits:

By design, CIJA has a strong relationship with U.S. law enforcement.

When asked if members of the US Congress have supported the work of CIJA, Engels would enthusiastically confirm so – citing proposed laws pertaining specifically to Syria.

In other words – nations committed to the overthrow of the Syrian government fund and support the CIJA’s work in Syria – casting doubt on both their integrity and their motivations. Just as the NYT would be remiss to write an entire article based on claims made by the Syrian government itself – it is remiss in uncritically reporting the claims made by its opponents.

The fact that the CIJA’s “evidence” is so heavily redacted that the NYT merely mentions it before building the rest of its article around older hearsay-accounts from its regular circle of “activists” and opposition figures, including the now notoriously discredited informant – “Caesar” – casts even further doubt.

The NYT appears to instead be contributing merely to the latest chapter of US-driven war propaganda aimed at undermining the Syrian government, protracting the Syrian conflict, and further dividing and destroying the nation.

Idlib is Al Qaeda Central

A renewed barrage of war propaganda has been launched by the West in tandem with Syrian government efforts to move in on Idlib – the last bastion of Al Qaeda and affiliated terrorist organizations west of the Euphrates River.

But it was the Western media – not the Syrian government or its Russian and Iranian allies – who have definitively exposed the overwhelming presence of terrorists in Idlib.

In 2015, it was the Wall Street Journal that reported in its article, “Assad Loses Final Idlib Stronghold to Al Qaeda-led Insurgents,” that:

After a two-year siege, al Qaeda’s affiliate in Syria and other insurgents on Wednesday captured the one remaining Syrian army air base in Idlib, a development that activists said effectively expelled the last of President Bashar al-Assad’s military from the northwestern province.

Since 2015, Al Qaeda and its various affiliates have expanded and consolidated their control in the region. A more recent article published earlier this year by the BBC titled, “Syria war: Jihadist takeover in rebel-held Idlib sparks alarm,” would explain (emphasis added):

The Islamic State group may have lost all its territory in Syria but a rival jihadist group has been making gains in the last remaining opposition stronghold in the north of the country – and it has got residents nervous.

In a dramatic takeover last month, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) swept through towns and villages in Idlib province, as well as adjoining parts of Aleppo and Hama.

The group – which was known as al-Nusra Front before it broke off formal ties with al-Qaeda three years ago – expelled some rebel factions and forced others to surrender and recognise a “civil administration” it backs.

In reality – US State Department-designated foreign terrorist organizations like al-Nusra – have dominated fighting against the Syrian government since the conflict began in 2011 with the notion of “moderate rebels” a propaganda ploy to obfuscate the true nature of US-backed militants.

And while the BBC attempts to disassociate al-Nusra from Al Qaeda in its article by claiming it “broke off formal ties” three years ago – the US State Department itself in a 2018 amendment to its terrorist designation of al-Nusra would explicitly state (emphasis added):

In January 2017, al-Nusrah Front launched the creation of HTS as a vehicle to advance its position in the Syrian uprising and to further its own goals as an al-Qa’ida affiliate. Since January 2017, the group has continued to operate through HTS in pursuit of these objectives.

The Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Ambassador Nathan A. Sales, noted that “today’s designation serves notice that the United States is not fooled by this al-Qa’ida affiliate’s attempt to rebrand itself. Whatever name Nusrah chooses, we will continue to deny it the resources it seeks to further its violent cause.”

The candor of the US State Department’s amendment, however, is demonstratively contradicted by current, ongoing US support for the terrorists themselves as well as the current Western propaganda campaign aimed at protecting Al Qaeda under its various aliases from efforts by the Syrian government to remove them from Idlib and restore order there.

Idlib Propaganda Blitz: Barrel Bombs, Secret Torture Prisons, and Chemical Weapons

If Idlib is admittedly overrun by terrorists – according to the West itself – then Syrian government efforts to remove them is justified.

Yet familiar themes from similar efforts aimed at preventing Syrian forces from liberating other cities and regions from terrorists are being dusted off and reused. This includes the rehabilitation of the so-called “White Helmets,” a war propaganda troupe working side-by-side Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations – often aiding and abetting war crimes including summary executions.

The “White Helmets” are also key in promoting claims of “chemical weapon attacks.” The “White Helmets” played a key role in staging the chemical weapons attack on Douma, Syria in 2018 which served as a pretext to a US-led military strike on Syrian forces.

There is also the constant din of Western propagandists citing “barrel bombs,” a term invented to describe unguided munitions – unguided munitions being neither against international conventions nor considered controversial by any standing military force, East or West – now or at any other time in the history of warfare. They are simply ordinary bombs given an ominous title in the service of otherwise dishonest Western-driven war propaganda.

Avoiding The Eye - Ships Free Today!

The NYT’s recent article recycling stories of “secret torture prisons” seeks to lump itself in with this propaganda blitz and more should be expected to follow.

Among the propaganda there is nothing new – no new information, no new accusations, no new or inventive ways to repackage or resell it. Redacted pages of what is supposed to be “evidence” of the Syrian government’s crimes looks instead like the NYT and its Western-government funded source – the CIJA – have something to hide, not something to expose.

However, war propaganda alone cannot win a war. It can only enhance the strengths of a government or coalition who must already possess the means of winning any given war. The United States and its collaborators in its proxy war on Syria have already long-since lost. Ongoing propaganda campaigns only further undermine Washington’s credibility and the credibility of media organizations serving its agenda.

The NYT posting pictures of illegible, nearly fully redacted pages and claiming it is “evidence” comes across as self-inflicted satire.

US government and corporate foundation-funded fronts like “Human Rights Watch” repeating these dubious accusations and outright lies also indefinitely cripple their own credibility.

However dubious, ongoing propaganda still seeks to at the very least hamper and slow down Syrian security operations. The retaking of Idlib and the destruction of Al Qaeda’s last significant base of operations in the country is key to stabilizing the region.

As the US continues positioning itself for war with nearby Iran – a festering terrorist foothold like Idlib would serve as a serious liability for Iranian efforts to defend itself at home while dealing with a serious, sudden offensive launched out of Idlib against its Syrian allies.

Thus it is key to expose and confront Western war propaganda at every juncture – no matter how ineffective it appears – to minimize its impact in this war and every other Western war of aggression to come.

Tony Cartalucci, Bangkok-based geopolitical researcher and writer, especially for the online magazine “New Eastern Outlook”.

A few months ago, Activist Post reported about how Verizon started their “Let’s 5G” campaign which asks customers to contact their legislators to demand that they hurry up and get 5G installed in their communities.

Their most recent “Let’s 5G” email includes nothing about the increasing numbers of credible individuals and organizations (U.S. Navy, NASA, NOAA, meteorologists, doctors, scientists, elected officials, etc.) who oppose the widespread installation of 5G on Earth as well as in space.

It includes nothing about the congressional testimony given by telecom representatives in February and how they could provide no scientific evidence that 5G is safe.

It includes nothing about how 5G was already installed in Sacramento, CA and few people signed up for it.

Activist Post archives are jam-packed with reasons to “Let’s NOT 5G” and its growing opposition.  Keep that in mind when reading some of the details from Verizon’s latest silly email.

5 Incredible Ways 5G Could Change Your Life:

1) Not just fridges that order milk
With faster home wireless than current wired connections, 5G will power truly connected living spaces and even help cut your energy bill – automatically.

2) Get better health-care, anywhere
We’re talking lifelike virtual care that brings your doctor to you. Surgeons using robotics to operate on patients miles away. Even faster first responders.

3) Immerse yourself in learning, or gaming
5G will bring lessons to life with virtual, hands-on learning environments – and kill off pricey gaming devices by making games streamable anywhere, instantly.

4) Get the next level fan experience
Imagine scoring virtual floor seats, or changing camera angles on the big game from your couch, or seeing lyrics to your favorite songs floating over the stage.

5) Make traffic an urban myth
Let’s not only prevent car accidents, let’s end traffic jams altogether. With 5G, self-driving cars should be just the beginning of how you’ll be able to get there, faster.

Orono, MN — In case after case, the Free Thought Project has reported on countless incidents of police officers responding to welfare checks and killing or maiming the innocent recipients in the process. We’ve also reported on multiple incidents of the American police state targeting elderly people who are unable to mow their grass. However, what makes this case out of Orono, Minn. so unique is that this same scenario started just like the aforementioned ones, but thanks to officer Matt Siltala, it ended in the exact opposite manner—with kindness, instead of extortion and violence.

Typically, when police officers carry out a welfare check, officer safety is paramount. Doors are kicked in, K-9s deployed, and often times, those who are in need of help, receive something far worse. But officer Siltala didn’t do any of that during a welfare check last week and found that the woman in the home was just fine. However, she was unable to mow her grass.

Many people in Siltala’s position would have issued the elderly woman a citation at this point and possibly gone even further. However, instead of ticketing the elderly woman for the tall grass, the officer then went above and beyond. He mowed it for her.

Siltala’s partner, officer McCoy, snapped a photo of Siltala carrying out this act of kindness and it was posted to the department’s Facebook page with the following caption.

“I cannot say how proud stuff like this makes us. Officer Matt Siltala was called to this residents home on a welfare check today. She was ok and Matt asked her why her yard is so unkempt. She said she doesn’t have anyone to mow for her. He grabbed her mower and cut the front yard. Very cool,” read the post.

The department then quipped about why McCoy was taking a picture instead of helping.

“But, not sure why Officer McCoy, who took the picture, couldn’t grab the trimmer… Must be a union issue,” it said.

The post was inundated with multiple compliments from folks who praised the officer for this act of discretion and kindness.

“Kindness and compassion needs to be taught from a young age. Love wins again,” said one commenter on Facebook. “Thank you to the officer who took the time to help this lady out. Remember everyone you will be elderly some day.”

What’s more, after the post began to go viral, community members came out to offer their help to the elderly woman and said they will continue to mow her grass for her.

The reason this case is garnering so much attention is due to the fact that it is the opposite of what usually happens.

Had this elderly woman lived in Riesel, Texas, were 75-year-old Gerry Suttle lived, she would have had a warrant issued for her arrest for the tall grass.

Suttle had a warrant out for her arrest because she was just like the woman in Orono and could not mow her grass. Instead of help, however, she was threatened with being kidnapped and caged.

Or, if she would’ve lived in Dunedin, Florida, like Jim Ficken, this elderly woman could be losing her home entirely.

Last year, when he was out of town trying to take care of his late mother’s estate, his grass did what grass does, it grew. Knowing that it is unpleasing to neighbors to grow long grass, Ficken hired a friend to cut it for him while he was away, but that friend died and Ficken had no idea.

Because Ficken’s grass grew over 10 inches, the city government claimed he owed them money. Every day that Ficken kept his grass over the “legal limit,” the government would steal $500 from him. This went on for 57 days, and now, the government claims Ficken owes them nearly $30,000. Because Ficken is retired and on fixed income, he is unable to pay these ridiculous fines and now the government is stealing his house from him.

Thank you to officer Siltala for showing the country that discretion and kindness are far better solutions to problems than extortion and escalation.

One of the key fears that critics of mass surveillance and the proliferation of facial recognition technology have warned about has been realized with new reporting Monday that a “malicious cyber attack” has resulted in photos of airport passengers and other personal data harvested by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol being stolen by unknown actors.

According to the Washington Post:

Customs officials said in a statement Monday that the images, which included photos of people’s license plates, had been compromised as part of an attack on a federal subcontractor.

The agency maintains a database including passport and visa photos that is used at airports as part of an agency facial-recognition program. CBP declined to say what images were stolen or how many people were affected.

But CBP makes extensive use of cameras and video recordings at the arrival halls of international airports as well as land border crossings, where vehicle license plates are also captured.

A CBP statement said none of the image data had been identified “on the Dark Web or Internet.” But reporters at The Register, a British technology news site, reported late last month that a large haul of breached data from the firm Perceptics was being offered as a free download on the dark web.

The CBP apparently did not want to confirm which private subcontractor was the target of the attack, but the Post and others were able to track down that it likely was Perceptics:

“This is a bombshell,” said Evan Greer, deputy director of the advocacy group Fight fight for the Future, in response to the reporting. “Even if you 100% trust the US government with your biometric information (which you shouldn’t) this is a reminder that once your face is scanned and stored in a database, it’s easily shared across government agencies, stolen by hackers, other governments, etc.”

BuzzFeed, also among the first to report on the breach on Monday, noted that the “cyberattack comes amid the ongoing rollout of CBP’s “biometric entry-exit system,” the government initiative to biometrically verify the identities of all travelers crossing US borders.” As BuzzFeed News reported Citing earlier reporting, BuzzFeed pointed out that “CBP is scrambling to implement the initiative with the goal of using facial recognition technology on ‘100 percent of all international passengers,’ including American citizens, in the top 20 US airports by 2021.”

In a statement, Neema Singh Guliani, senior legislative counsel at the ACLU, said the compromise of passenger data is a great example of why privacy and civil liberties groups continue to warn about facial recognition and the electronic collection of other personal data.

“This breach comes just as CBP seeks to expand its massive face recognition apparatus and collection of sensitive information from travelers, including license plate information and social media identifiers,” said Guliani. “This incident further underscores the need to put the brakes on these efforts and for Congress to investigate the agency’s data practices. The best way to avoid breaches of sensitive personal data is not to collect and retain it in the first place.”

In an opinion piece, ironically posted at the Washington Post just hours before the news story broke, titled “Don’t smile for surveillance: Why airport face scans are a privacy trap“— columnist Geoffrey A. Fowler warned that even as U.S. consumers become more accustomed to facial recognition technology—such as using your face to unlock an iPhone or other device—what happens when a government agency or airline captures such an image at the airport is something entirely different.

“When you unlock an iPhone, your face scans never go to Apple or even leave your phone,” explains Fowler. “But at an e-gate, your face gets captured by the airline and then compared with a face database run by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which reports back whether you’re cleared to board.”

The big difference, however, is that there needs to be some cross-verification of any face the system at the airport is trying to match. “Where do those come from?” writes Fowler. “From the State Department, which gathers the shots from passports and visa applications.”

Imagine a world in which you could keep every single penny that the fruits of your own labor produced. That would be a world without income taxation making it much easier for the average American to get by.

Instead, we live in a world where nothing goes untaxed. About 1/3 of Americans say that their expenses are so high that after the theft of the federal government from their paychecks, they need a “side hustle” to make ends meet. According to Bankrate, side hustlers make $1,122 per month on average from their part-time work — up from $686 last year. But if Americans were given the right to no longer be stolen from, and got to keep their own money, most wouldn’t need a side hustle or part-time work to get by.

Nearly half, 45%, of U.S. workers earn additional income outside of their primary career, a recent Bankrate survey found. This includes 48% of millennials. The percentage of Gen Xers and baby boomers with a side hustle is slightly lower, coming in at 39% and 28%, respectively.

“A lot of people are working side hustles because even though the economy is strong, wages are stagnant,” Amanda Dixon, an analyst at Bankrate, told MarketWatch. “For a lot of Americans, expenses are rising, but there are no raises at work.” And heaven forbid the government stops raiding our income. That won’t be a suggestion the lapdog media will toss around either. However, if humans own themselves, they have the right to the fruits of their labor regardless of the edicts of the political elitists.

The video below exposes the utter insanity of taxation:

Many of the people out there living paycheck to paycheck (which is about 78% of Americans) would not be in that predicament if the income theft would cease. The fact that not many will even talk about the heavy burden of taxation in America is not surprising, but it is important.  There’s a reason they don’t want you focused on how much they steal.  And if you make more to account for what was stolen from your paycheck, they’ll steal some of that too. It’s an ugly vicious cycle and if the government cared even a little about the general public (which they don’t) they’d immediately eliminate all income theft.  Just because it’s legal for them to steal (and they invented that rule) doesn’t make it right.

Parasites on Parade, a book by Larken Rose tackles the very problem of government interference in our lives and paychecks. This book takes a look at the mentality and tactics of various state busybodies also provides an important lesson regarding the true nature of political “authority,” and the problems and abuses it naturally creates.
